He represents a variety of clients from individuals and small businesses to large corporations. 


Alan frequently represents clients in multiple areas, coordinating their estate planning with their business and real property interests. 


He joined McEwen Gisvold as a partner in 2007.


Alan's focus for every client is to provide clear communication and a thorough understanding of their legal matter, whether planning an estate, or purchasing, selling, or managing a business or real property.  His goal is to assist clients to realize their personal, family, and business objectives by understanding their goals, desires, and concerns.

Alan is an active member of the Oregon State and Multnomah County Bar Associations.
He is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Portland and a member of WealthCounsel.


COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

Alan was a member of the Board of Directors of New Avenues for Youth for over ten years, and assisted the Boys and Girls Aid in the acquisition of its Hillsboro, Oregon facility. He is currently a member of the board and the executive committee of the Citizens Crime Commission.

Represented seller of a mechanical engineering firm to a corporation with international operations

Represented property owner in negotiating and implementing a ground lease to a national retailer in a portion of an existing shopping center

Represented property owner in development of a shopping center involving shared site development costs

Represented purchaser of a restaurant including obtaining liquor and lottery licenses
