Janice joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 1990 and became a partner in 2001. After focusing her practice on litigation matters for the first 5 years of her career, Janice changed her focus to real estate transactions.  Over the past 12 years, Janice has developed an expertise in working with various lenders in the documenting and handling of complex real estate finance transactions. Janice represents large and small lenders in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho in the documentation and negotiation of commercial and combination commercial/residential transactions, including home builder developments, low-income housing and retail, warehouse and industrial commercial real estate.

Representative Transactions
Assisted in the representation as general counsel to a large mortgage lender and insurance company with respect to its lending activities in 48 states.

Since January 1, 2006, Janice has represented lenders financing in excess of $250 million on transactions in Oregon and neighboring states.

Represented lender in portions of the re-development of low-income housing at the Columbia Villa in North Portland.

Janice is an active member of the Oregon State Bar Association, the Multnomah Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association and Oregon Women Lawyers. Janice is a past member of the Oregon State Bar Legal Ethics Committee (past Secretary) and the Oregon State Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee.
