A graduate of Harvard Law School, Ray has been a partner with McEwen Gisvold since 1985. Ray's emphases include representation of creditors and enforcement of creditors' rights, representation of business debtors in bankruptcy, and defense and repair of attorney malpractice in bankruptcy and debtor-creditor area. Ray is frequently a writer and speaker in the areas of bankruptcy and creditor's rights, and has been an adjunct professor of law at Willamette University.
Barry represents a wide variety of clients, from small businesses and individuals to national corporations in the areas of commercial leasing, and the purchase and sale of businesses and real property. Barry regularly represents both landlords and tenants in the drafting, interpretation and enforcement of commercial leases. Barry also devotes part of his practice to commercial dispute resolution and litigation. Barry joined McEwen Gisvold in 1993 and has been the firm's managing partner since 2004.
Jonathan is a litigation and appellate attorney; his areas of expertise include real estate, title and escrow litigation, legal malpractice (repair and defense) and commercial and business law. Jonathan joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 1992 and became a partner in 2000.
Bob has over 28 years of expertise in construction, surety and public contract law, successfully representing the interests of contractors, subcontractors, public owners, private owners and sureties. He joined McEwen Gisvold as a partner in 2004. Bob has served his clients in the construction and procurement area by negotiating design-build and other forms of construction contracts, handling bid protests on public projects, construction liens, payment and performance bond claims, and other matters involving all types of disputes in the construction setting, whether in state or federal litigation, mediation or arbitration.
Kurt is a trial attorney, representing a variety of individual and institutional clients in business and real estate matters, such as shareholder or partner litigation, commercial litigation, real estate default and foreclosure. Kurt joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 2000 and became a partner with the firm in 2007.
Trung is a litigation and appellate attorney with experience in commercial, business, corporate and real estate law, legal malpractice defense and repair, employment law and simple estate planning. He represents a wide range of clients, including corporations, small businesses, banks, insurance companies, non-profit organizations, individuals and other attorneys in all aspects of litigation in both state and federal courts. Trung joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 2003 and became a partner in 2009. He is also an adjunct professor of law at Lewis & Clark Law School, where he teaches Regulation & Ethics of lawyers.
Katie Jo joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 2008. Her practice focuses on real estate, business, and construction litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Katie Jo served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jerome LaBarre in the Multnomah County Circuit Court.
Tyler joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 2010. His practice focuses on litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Tyler served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Eric J. Bloch in the Multnomah County Circuit Court.
Kimberly joined McEwen Gisvold as an associate in 2013. Her practice focuses on creditor's rights, business, and commercial litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Kimberly served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Kathleen M. Dailey at the Multnomah County Circuit Court and as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert Wollheim and the Honorable Timothy J. Sercombe at the Oregon Court of Appeals. Kimberly was selected as a Rising Star in Oregon Super Lawyers in 2012 and 2013.
