Kurt is a trial attorney, representing individual and institutional clients in business and real estate disputes, such as shareholder or partner litigation, commercial litigation, and real estate loan defaults and lien priority challenges. Kurt joined the firm in 2000 and has been a partner since 2007.
Representative Transactions
Successfully defended clients after jury trial over an alleged covenant to construct a road where the plaintiff was seeking over $700,000 in damages.
Together with co-counsel, successfully pursued over $1 million in securities claims against an investment advisor who had wrongfully diverted clients' investments for his own use.
Obtained a judgment against the tenant of a downtown commercial building after a trial to the court.
Represented lender in multi-state mortgage foreclosure lawsuits where client recovered the full amount of its debt.
Pursued construction defect claims on behalf of homeowner client, who was awarded over $100,000 in damages as well as attorney's fees and costs incurred in the lawsuit.
Defended clients against claims for $1 million in damages in a dispute about the management of a related family-owned business.
Represented owner and developer of multiple commercial properties in private arbitrations and in state court concerning the management of the enterprise.
Obtained the return of clients' 40 acres of real property, which was their contribution in a real estate joint venture.
